There is a new (to me) song by Jami Smith called "Bravo God" (2005, Soul Thirst Music).

At one point the lyrics go:
Bravo, bravo God
Bravo, bravo God
Bravo, bravo God
To your name we give you praise.
What causes you to say "bravo God"?
neat! thanks for your comment!
ReplyDeletei came across your blog and thought to leave a message.
ReplyDeletei think that this concept of 'bravo, God' is debasing in a sense. i mean, we say 'bravo' after a performance or a concert, but i just think of God on a much higher plane than a performer--someone who deserves more than a 'bravo' or 'good job, mate'. who are we to comment on God's creation as if we weren't quite sure what to expect or if we were scrutinising it. God deserves more than a 'bravo'; i think he deserves a greater kind of praise that can be found in our hearts in communion with him and not expressed with words.
